Frequently Asked Questions
Can I ask an accountancy question relating to my accounts or tax without being billed for it?
Yes. You won’t be billed extra for asking an account or tax question at the annual review meeting to sign off your accounts and tax return. After all, it’s important they are correct and you understand how your tax liability has been calculated.
Do you bill by the hour for your services?
We do and many clients are comfortable with that. Equally, many clients prefer to have a fixed fee that will be determined before the work is undertaken. We are transparent with fees and are happy to agree on these fees upfront before the work is started. Just ask and we will accommodate.
Is it important to use a qualified adviser?
We can’t speak for those without a qualification but what we can say is a Chartered Tax Adviser, or CTA, holds the leading qualification in professional tax expertise and can be relied upon to provide the highest quality tax advice to business and personal clients. A CTA has passed rigorous examinations demonstrating a high level of technical knowledge of the tax system. Ultimately you are free to choose an adviser whether qualified or not but that will require a judgement. Do you really want an unqualified adviser?
Are you up to date with changes in the tax legislation?
Yes. We are required to follow high ethical and professional standards and also demonstrate that we are keeping our professional knowledge and skills up to date by undertaking Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Are you able to take on the whole accounting function of my business?
Yes. We can do the whole lot, including bookkeeping, payroll, VAT returns and year end compliance. Alternatively, we are happy to provide a bespoke service.
